Although fiction, there are some very poignant life lessons contained in this work of unraveling apocalyptic action.This novel gave me pause to consider why I still religiously perform some of the rituals and practice habits that where ingrained by cold society in my young psyche in what now seems like eons ago.Whether you're a bold adventurer, blindly reaching for the perpetual adrenalin rush or a vegetating cubicle dweller, this novel has a message and conclusion for you. I have felt this in my bones for several years
in one fashion or another I believe we are going to see a manifestation
of good standing against evil that will in fact shock the world.
With 63 years lived and lessons learned I hope to have a poll position

Good list of characters, each relevant to current obstacles we face today. Funny how close to the truth in the current political arena!
Phenomenal work of fiction; in the same line as 'Atlas Shrugged'. I feel I can accurately state 'The Second Fall' is THE book for conservative fiction fans.
Mr. Hurst writes for those who have kept their eyes open for the past few years, and the impact is deeper if you have been paying attention longer. His tale encompasses the battle of good and evil, and he uses the main characters themselves - Jesus and Lucifer. No metaphors or allusions, and that is very refreshing. A splash of cold water is bracing, and it's needed today more than ever. Many of our fellow Americans have lost their ability to comprehend the sage warnings from other similar forecasters, like Ayn Rand and George Orwell. To the detriment of our country, critical reasoning has given way to common core sloganeering. This book will strengthen your conservative values and get you talking and thinking.
Brief overview of The Second Fall read Revelations. Add in politicians and the impending collapse of the United States, especially if it keeps going in the direction of socialism, debt, and Venezuela-like take over of industry. Be prepared to take an introspective look at yourself, your neighbor, and your country. No spoilers. It's that awesome, engrossing, and encompassing. While I feel some of the mayhem Mr. Hurst predicts is outside the scope of possibility, I concur with him that things will get horrifically bad in urban and suburban areas. Rural locales are somewhat more sufficient.
Mr. Hurst's writing is comfortable, irreverent at times, and quite nearly perfect. I've found that best writers channel that inner monologue most of us have...he has done so brilliantly. His description of places, down to that damn creak of a Bronco's door (seriously, I thought that came standard on all Bronco's), is richly layered. Why? He's been there. He's experienced that. The Second Fall is somewhat biographical, so you really get a good sense of the author and the strength of his convictions. I remarked somewhere it's like reading in 3D if you've even visited AZ and/or CA, or stepped into a National Park. His characters are wonderfully constructed. I found myself in a number of them - Candice, Baxter, and Hardy. Chances are you'll see yourself too, and you will know which 'gathering' you side with. It certainly helps if you're up on Catholicism. If not, you can ask a Catholic (I qualify and will answer here in the comment section).
So, do you REALLY want to wake up? Take a dip in this glacier fed mountain lake of a novel, suck back some coffee, and get to reading 'The Second Fall'.
I would recommend this book to anyone! Excellent reading that keeps you on the edge of your seat all the way through to the very end.
The Second Fall was a straight from the gut spiritual magic ride at break neck speed down twisty scenic roads with characters that recalled memories of old friends and bits of my own past as well.
Suspend disbelief,maintain 360 degree awareness,never lose faith and hold on tight.
My wife will read it soon,this is a book that will resonate with me for a long time.
Upon completion of The Second Fall.... I immediately purchased Mr. Hurst's The Monterians I'll be saving it to read this summer.I hope to see more books from this extremely talented writer.
